What is the SSEF?
The Sarah Smith Education Foundation is a not-for-profit fundraising
organization supporting our school's pursuit of excellence in education. The
funds raised enrich the learning environment available to every classroom and
every child at Sarah Smith Elementary. The generosity of our supporters allows
us to offer a curriculum not available at any other public elementary school in
Atlanta.
As a teacher at Sarah Smith, I am very grateful to have a foundation that
supports my work in the classroom. Two years ago, the SSEF sent me to a
conference at the University of Connecticut. This was an amazing experience
which wouldn't have taken place without the Foundation's generous grant. I am
now taking classes towards an M.A. in Educational Psychology of the Gifted and
Talented through UCONN and my knowledge base is increasing tremendously.
