SkillsUSA is a national career/technology student organization. You can find
out lots of information at:

SkillsUSA focuses on developing students into leaders and preparing them for
work and college. Three of those areas of focus are Criminal Justice, Crime
Scene Investigation and CPR. The cost for 2008-09 dues is $25 and includes a
t-shirt and many of our local activities.
Here are a few things we will do this year:
1) September 25: waffle breakfast before school
2) October 21: dinner and movie
3) November 6:football tail gate
4) Fall Leadership Conference, Jekyll Island, first weekend of October
5) Fund raising for Fall Conference and Spring conference
6) Spring competition, April, Atlanta (apx.$150)
Pay your dues to Mrs. Tovey with cash or check!!! Fall Dues must be paid by
September 26!!!

The rooms are reserved as “Shaw High School.” No telephone service will be
available in the rooms other than room to room calls.

SkillsUSA State Competition
On April 24 and 25, students from Shaw High School competed in numerous areas
for the SkillsUSA State Competition. Public Safety students were entered in
CSI, Promotional Bulletin Board, Related Technical Math and Criminal Justice.
CHRIS MURRAY, a Senior, placed SECOND in the Criminal Justice competition!!!
