Each Monday a new homework assignment sheet will be placed in the
communication notebook. Per Cobb County guidelines, homework assignments
should not take more than 30 minutes daily. Please sign the assignment sheet
daily after assignments are completed. I do not grade homework, but I do keep
up with who turns it in completed. It is meant for practice and communication
between child and parent. If there is any part of the homework that is
unclear or if your child is struggling with it, I encourage you to contact
me.
Doing homework is part of your child's responsibility. If homework is
consistently not returned it will be marked on the report card under "work
habits" and it will probably reflect in your child's daily work. Some
children do not need as much practice as others and I understand that.
However, homework is not only about practicing skills from class, it is
about practicing responsibility. I do give homework passes out as rewards,
but it is ONLY to be used on ONE PAGE of the homework.
