Class Letter

						November 10, 2009

Dear Parents,
Your child may come out of uniform tomorrow, 11/11, in honor of
Veterans’ Day, by bringing at least a $1.00 donation for ALS.
We have some busy times coming up. Next week is the big Bake Sale to
benefit the 8th grade trip to Holy Trinity, Alabama. You should have
received a “Promise Slip” in your child’s folder. The Promise Slip contains
all of the pertinent information for you to donate some baked goods. Each
item you donate should have a paper attached that lists what the item is, if
there is anything that might cause allergy concerns, and credited to your
Kindergartner. (We’re trying to earn a pizza party with our 8th grade
friends!) Many people look forward to buying all of their Thanksgiving
treats from the Bake Sale! You can too!
On November 24, we will have our Thanksgiving feast in place of
lunch. The Pilgrims and Indians will gather together to enjoy the food they
each provide. Please remember that we have asked each family to provide one
item. Unless we have heard from you that you are unable to provide it, we
are counting on you to send it in.
We have learned that in Kindergarten, we have current cases of strep
throat and head lice. Both are passed easily from one to another. Some
information regarding head lice was emailed home by Mrs. Finley, our school
nurse. If your child is experiencing anything contagious, please let us
know. It helps to know if we should be on the lookout for anything in
particular.
During the month of December, we will be studying Christmas
traditions from around the world, as well as about other winter holidays,
such as Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. If you have any special traditions you would
like to share with 51 excited Kindergartners, please let us know. We’re
excited too!
