About The Librarian/Media Specialist

NAME: Mrs. Laura Ayala

Hi!  Welcome to the STM media center web page.  My name is Mrs. Laura Ayala 
and I have been the Media Specialist at STM for 8 years. I am married and 
have a son who graduated from St. Pius High X School and now attends Georgia College and State 
University in Milledgeville.   He attended STM for 9 years. 
I also share my home with two boxers, Max & Cocoa and many, many, many 
books! 

I am orginally from Connecticut but graduated from Virginia Commonwealth 
University with a degree in Rehabilitation Services.  I then went to work in 
accounting!  I moved to Atlanta in 1985 to work at The Home Depot, where I 
worked in Accounting Management for 14 years. 

I finally discovered what I was meant to do and went back to school and 
received my Masters of Library Media at Georgia State University. 

As you probably have guessed my hobby is reading!  I read children's books 
and adult fiction and am a passoniate mystery fan.  On a good month I read 
about 20+ books.  Oh, and I also love to shop!

Objectives of the Library

The mission of the St. Thomas More Media Center is to encourage students to 
become life long learners and readers.  We strive to help every student find 
their reading niche and to become information literate
