Dear Parents,
I work with seventh graders for two quarters The other two quarters they are back in Language Arts as that curriculum requires a little more time. I have chosen a curriculum called Conflict Resolution in the Middle School by William J. Kreidler. I find that seventh graders are hungry to learn new ways to handle conflict. They are beginning to examine their relationships with their peers, their teachers, their parents, and the world. Conflict is a natual and necessary part of this process, and a necessary part of life. The curriculum emphasizes isx themes:
cooperation
communication
appreciation for diversity
the healthy expression of feelings
responsible decision making
conflict resolution.
The classes have lots of group work and role plays which the kids really get in to.
Stop by and look at the curriculum that I use if you are interested.
