Small Group Guidance
In addition to conducting once per month classroom guidance lessons and
periodic individual meetings with students, we teach skills in a small group
environment. Children who share a common concern or need may be invited to
participate in a small group that is facilitated by a school counselor. The
small group provides each student with the support of peers and the counselor
as the student works to develop his/her potential in school. We emphasize to
students and their parents/guardians that small groups can be for everyone,
and that participation does not require or indicate a problem. All students
can benefit from learning how to accept responsibility, make and keep
friends, improve study skills, adjust to family changes, manage stress,
communicate effectively, make decisions and solve problems.
If you are interested in your child having the opportunity to participate in
Small Group Guidance, please contact either Ms. Lynn Haldaman or Mr. Tom
Perrine.
