Hi my name is Karen Jacoby. Let me tell you a little about myself!

This is my 29th year of teaching children with special needs.  I have been working at Sweet Apple Elementary since the second year the school was opened.  I received my undergraduate from Georgia Southern University and two masters from Georgia State. I continue to love my profession and thoroughly enjoy working with the students.

I am originally from Long Island, New York. I have been married to my husband Ron for 20 years.  I have 2 beautiful children, Stefani and Jack who keep me very busy. I enjoy reading, walking, camping and working out with friends and family. We have a 10 year old German Sheppard/Lab mix, and a 16 year old Quarter Horse that complete our family.

Ingrid Brown - Assistant

Ingrid Brown hails from Queens, New York. She is happily married to Neil.  He is a minister of Pastoral Care to a large congregation. They have three grown children.  The oldest is a minister, while earning a degree in counseling. He is married to a nurse.  They have been blessed with a precious little precocious daughter from China.   Ingrid’s daughter is an administrative assistant at a graphics company and is married to a middle school teacher.  They have a fantastic daughter and two rambunctious sons. Ingrid’s youngest son is the worship leader at a large church.  He is married to a former Roswell High teacher. They have a delightful two year old son and a newborn baby boy.  They all greatly enjoy getting together making memories as a family.

Ingrid joined the North Metro Program at Sweet Apple nine years ago.  She holds a degree in Elementary Education from Hofstra University, Long Island, New York.  She taught elementary and preschool in New York, Florida, and Alabama while her husband was in the military.  She greatly enjoys working with the special needs children in North Metro. They bring a new dimension to her life
