Mrs. Lane's 5th Grade Class

My name is Rebecca Soares Lane
and I am 35 years old. I was
born and raised in Chapel Hill,
North Carolina. When I was 10 my
family and I moved to Dover, New
Hampshire. It was quite a change
for a young southern belle, but I
am, after fourteen years of being in
Georgia, beginning to call the
south my home again.

I graduated in 1999, Magna Cum
Laude, from Providence College,
located in Providence, Rhode
Island. I was fortunate to
fulfill a double major in both
elementary education as well as
special education. I feel that
being educated in both areas will
enable me to meet and understand
the needs of all of my students.
However, I will look to you, the
parents, for guidance as well.
You know your child better than I
ever will.

I currently reside in Canton with
my husband, Collin, and our daughter, Isabella.
Ten years ago I graduated from Oglethorpe
University with a Master's Degree
in early childhood education.
This will be my fourteenth year here
at Sweet Apple.
