All About Mrs. Thomas

Mrs. Thomas

Hello! I am Mrs. Leslie Thomas.
I have been teaching for 30 years
and am proud to be a member of
the Sweet Apple family. I opened
the school in 1997 after teaching
at Mountain Park ES for six
years. Before coming to Fulton
County, I taught 12 years in
DeKalb County.
I have been happily married to
Dan for 9 and 1/2 years. We married on
March 31, 2000. He retired 7
years ago from being the printing
director at GA TECH!!
(Oh my!)
I will be retiring this May and moving
into my new home near Bowling Green, KY.
Since the age of five, I have
always wanted to be a teacher. I
love my job! I love talking and
laughing with children.
I am also a five year breast
cancer survivor and walked 60
miles in the 3-Day Breast Cancer
Walk. With many prayers and
support from family and friends,
I was able to keep up a strong
attitude throughout this cancer
experience.
If you walk into my classroom,
you'll see that I'm a HUGE GA
BULLDOG FAN! Yes, I live in
a House Divided! GO DAWGS!!

My Family

These are my two daughters,
Lauren and Jennifer.
Lauren is married to Jeff, who
serves our country in the Army.
They had their first child,
Killian Charles, on Dec. 3,
2008. Lauren is currently
student-teaching at a middle school
in Clarksville, TN to become
a Health/PE teacher.
Jen has just entered her freshman year
at Union College in Barbourville, KY. She
received a partial scholarship to play basketball
there and will major in Psychology to become a
Child Life Specialist. We are so excited and
VERY PROUD of her!

Colleges

I received my B.S. in Education
from the University of Georgia
and my Masters in Education from
Georgia State University.
I loved living in Athens for four
years!

Killian Charles

This is my grandson, Killian Charles.
He is 11 months old.
I call him Sugar Bee!

My Mission

My goal is to help your child reach
his or her potential, feel confident,
and enjoy being a lifelong learner.
I will endeavor to support, encourage,
and challenge your child this year.
In return, I expect your child to always
try his or her hardest and to be respectful
of others in our classroom.
My hope is that my students will utilize
each opportunity of learning to its
fullest by completing their assignments,
asking questions, and always putting
forth their best effort.
