8th Grade Artwork

Claes Oldenburg-Inspired Sculpture

Claes Oldenburg is a sculptor,
famous for his public art
installations that typically
feature extremely large
objects...replicas of simple,
everyday objects we would not
normally take a minute to think
about as artwork.
Claes Oldenburg turns these
objects into massive, sometimes
humorous works of art. Please
enjoy these 8th grade students'
art as they learned about
Oldenburg and created their own
objects!

Medium: Papier Mache and paint

Claes Oldenburg-Inspired Sculpture

This was done by Ms. Lockman and
some of her talented students---
she was so inspired by the all
wonderful sculptures the students
were creating, and she wanted to
make a few of her own!

African Design Textile Painting

These textile paintings were two
of our largest textile artworks to
date...many hours were spent by
these 8th grade artists as they
meticulously created these
masterpieces!
