Dear Parents,
We are continuing our unit on "Spring". In math, we are working on
Addition, Subtraction, and Measurement. The students will be writing stories
in their journals. The sight word "run" will be added to the following sight
word list: " are, she, is, it, to, we, at go, you, and, for, the, can,
like,this,see, play, come, a, help, big, in, little, jump, look, me, and my,
not,and play". Please practice these with your child.
I will continue to send Sunshine Books home with the students. Please have
your child read the story several times. They need to be able to
recognize the words, punctuation marks, charaters in the story, what
happened at the beginning, middle, and end of the story. When they can do
these skills, return the book to school in the plastic bag and I will send
home another book. The students have a 2-week period to return their homework
packets.
Please have your child return their "Spring Break" journal to school if they
haven't already.
Journal writing would benefit all the children. Please have your child
practice writing numbers to 20 and letters without any reversals. We are
also working on identifying number words one, two, three, four, five, six,
seven, eight, nine, and ten.
Remind your child to give you all the papers in their folders.
Also, help them remember to place a snack in their book bag each day.
Our Media Center day changed to Monday of this week instead of Friday.
