Please practice writing your child's first and last name - forming the
letters correctly. Also practice writing numbers 1-20 forming them correctly.
Most of the students needs to practice recognizing the name and amounts of
the following money - penny - 1 cent - nickel - 5 cents - dime - 10
cents - quarter - 25 cents - one dollar. Practice counting pennies to a
dime (10) and pennies to a nickel (5). Practice recognition of number
words 1-10. Reading to or with your child and have them write sentences about
the book (ex. where the story took place, who was in the story, what
happended first, next, and last).
The sight words the students need to recognize by the end of the year is on
the "Announcement" page of my web sight. Please help you child recognize
these words.
Homework packets are coming home approximately every 2 weeks. Please help
your child do them in a timely manner.
Your child can use the computer to reinforce skills we are learning in
Kindergarten. Check our computer links for some programs that are
appropriate. The Computer Lab has some web sites the children enjoy and
learn from.
