Reading Logs

The reading log is a way to keep track of your student’s reading throughout the year. The reading should be a combination of shared (with you) and independent reading for 15 minutes each school night. Each time your student reads 15 minutes or more, they write the title of the book, the date, and the type of book on the log. Each time the log is filled up  (there are only 18 spaces to record) please send it in with the student's name on the top, and I will send home a new one.

Below are the reading goals for each 9 weeks. Remember to reach reading goals it is necessary to read each night. To help your child reach his/her reading goals ask questions about the story: who, what, when, where, author, characters, etc. Make reading a special and enjoyable part of your day! J
