Learning Game Ideas on the "GO"Over spring break, some of you may be taking long trips during which you ride in cars or wait in long lines. Here are some ideas for how to make that down time a productive learning time! :) 1. Play the even or odd game where you call out a number and they vote even or odd, its fun to add special hand motions to make your fingers form an E or an O. There is a song we learned to remember the even and odd numbers that goes: (looking in the ones place) 0,2,4,6,8 even numbers are great 1,3,5,7,9, odd numbers are fine 2. Play the rounding game where you call out a number and your student rounds it to the nearest 10. There is a special song we learned for rounding that goes: (looking in the ones place) 1,2,3, or 4 Round Down Round Down Round Down.... 5,6,7,8,9 Round Up Round Up Round Up 3. Play the "I'm going of the store game" where you pretend to be going to a store to buy a special item at a certain price (first grade standards require change to $1.00 and combinations of bills up to 20$ have your student then tell you some different ways they could pay for that item
4. Play the "I'm thinking of a word game" For example.... I'm thinking of a word that sounds like HALL if you take off H and add a B what word to you get? Answer = ball. This game is FANTASTIC because there will be a listening section on the CRCT
5. Play the "I'm thinking of a number game" For example... I'm thinking of the number 15, if I add 2 what number do I get. Answer= 17
