Greetings from Mrs. DiMare!
A little about myself....I was born and raised in Miami, Florida and have
lived in Georgia since 1974. I received my teaching degree at the University
of Miami but did not teach right away. Instead, I had a little bit
of "gypsy" in me and was a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines for 20
years. I traveled the world and had a great time. After Eastern closed down
I went back to teaching and taught Kindergarten in DeKalb county for six
years. I took a break from teaching and was an Administrative Assistant for
my church. I went back to teaching 5 years ago and have been at Timber Ridge
for 5 years. I taught 1st then kindergarten and now this is my fourth year
in fourth grade.
I have a wonderful son, Kellum, who graduated from Alabama and is
working for Guardian Financial Group. I have a wonderful husband, Mark, and
we were
married in Miami in June! I love dogs and have an adorable Golden Retriever
named Cody and also my grand dog Tucker, who is Kellum's black lab, and at
125 pounds thinks he is a lap dog!
I love teaching, especially here at this great school. In my free time I
love taking walks with Cody, spending time with Mark and Kellum, reading,
traveling, working out, yoga, going to the movies, hanging out with
friends, cooking and anything outdoors. I have a big Italian family and we
love being together as much as time allows. I was able to spend 10 days
in Italy recently and I plan of living in Tuscany for a year once I retire.
I also have my real estate license and help Mark with his business.
I love working with all the staff and parents here at Timber Ridge. And of
course getting to be with all your kids. It really is the "best" job
I hope you all enjoy my web page! Please feel free to email me if you have
any suggestions on how to improve this site. Also, if there is some info
that you would like to see added let me know.
Thank you!
My mission is to create an environment where learning is valued and each
child feels loved, inspired and truly cared about. Our class motto is "It
is not about you but about us." Each child is unique with different
strengths and weaknesses. My job is to make sure each child succeeds in a
safe environment where he can take risks and not worry about making
mistakes. I am here to teach the Cobb County Curriculum in a way
that is fun yet challenging. I always go back to the question "How would I
want my son to be treated". I know I am not just here to teach the three r's
but to be one piece of a child's journey in becoming a kind, caring member of
society who loves learning and knows how special they are.
