Welcome back!

It is hard to get back into the swing of school again after such a wonderful break!
Thank you for being flexible and allowing me to move Conference Week. I'm looking forward to
discussing the progress your child has made thus far. Or class conferences will not affect the
children's schedule. The school conference week will be January 26-30, the children will be
dismissed at 12:20.
Also, Monday January 19,is M.L.K. Day, there is no school.


Please practice sight words with your child. We are also working on number words 1-10,counting
objects 1-30,coins-names and value,& graphs.

Please send your child a warm coat everyday, we try to go out everyday for a little while even
if it is cold.

Please help your child learn to tie his/her shoes.

It is very important to check your child's folder everyday. Also, all transportation
changes must be in writing. Please do not use e-mail for transportation changes, I may
not get to check it before dismissal.

We have P.E. Wednesdays and Fridays, please have your child wear running shoes
particularly on those days. It is a good idea for them to wear running shoes everyday.

Please read with your child 15 minutes each day. Let your child pick out words that he/she knows
on each page. Early Dr. Seuss books are great for this or Starfall.com. We also make many little
books, these are great to read and re-read to promote fluency.

Please send a jacket or sweatshirt with your child everyday, our room tends to be cool.
Please put your child's name on all items.
