Certified Georgia Master Teacher - This is my 21st year in education and my
14th here at Trickum. I have a B.S.in biology, and both a
masters and a specialist degree in secondary science education. I served as
chair the
gifted education department here at Trickum for the past 10 years. I co-
chair the
orientation/induction program for new teachers here at Trickum, and together
with Ms.
LaPerre, coach the Trickum Academic team. I also am in charge of the Trickum
Science Fair together with Mr. Lucy. Being a graduate of the University of
Georgia, I am very much a Dawg fan (I bleed red and black). While at UGA, I
also studied music (saxophone performance)performing in the Red Coat band and
various other ensembles. When I'm not at work at
Trickum or working as the state director for the PAGE Georgia Academic
Decathlon, I enjoy SCUBA and travel.
The mission of Gifted Science is to explore well beyond the boundaries of
the regular curriculum. We will be involved with more laboratory work, more
outside work and more research than the regular education science classes.
