Students should be reviewing nightly the current content and vocabulary.
Please, check your student's agenda nightly. By doing so, you will be
updated on what is happening in our science class.
We are currently working on Process Skills, the Steps of the Scientific
Method, and the Metric System (converting from one prefix to another). We
are working with hands-on-activities that will give the students a better
understanding of the procesess that make science work in our everyday life.
Ask your student to explain these activities, or better yet, to teach you the
activities. We have completed "How Many Drops of Water can a Penny Hold?" and
"Bugs-O-Copter"(weight vs paper clips). The week of August 29, we are
working on metric measuring with meter sticks and centimeter rulers, triple
beam balances, and graduated cylinders.
With these learned skills, we will be choosing our Science Fair Project topic
soon.
