Study, Study, Study.
Our geometry unit is progressing nicely. The students are learning new vocabulary and applying formulas to our daily math practices. I have expressed the importance of memorizing the many formulas for area as well as the vocabulary. We (the fifth grade teachers) not only teach several concepts/skills though we often revisit prior lessons throughout this unit. It is important that your child revisits their vocabulary and formulas that were taught at the begining of this unit and continue studying them throughout the unit.
Blue Ridge Forms
Blue Ridge health forms are arriving home today in your child's Thursday folder. Please return them fully completed ASAP. The chaperones also need to complete a form. These are mandatory for the field trip.
Valentine's Day
Bahrville's Valentine card exchange is taking place on Friday, February 12. It's just a small social gathering with the students and myself filled with laughter and smiles. Decorated shoeboxes or a paperbag to collect the many treats/cards they will be receiving are welcome. I have sent home a class list of names to ensure everyone receives a little something.
Fifth Grade Supplement
The 5th Grade Supplement committee is now collecting photos for the supplement to the yearbook. The supplement will contain only photos from 5th grade activities occurring during the 2009-2010 school year. This includes events such as the Civil War Museum, classroom celebrations, skate night, Fall Festival, GAA Lock-In, Lazer Tag, Blue Ridge, variety show and field day. An email account has been specifically established to receive photos for Mrs. Bahr’s class. Your 5th Grade related photos can be emailed to 5.GR.PICS.BAHR@GMAIL.COM . The deadline for the photos is April 30, 2010.
