What should I do if my child must be absent from school?
If your child must be absent due to their illness, please send in a written excuse the day your child returns. If your child has thrown up or had a fever in the past 12-24 hours, these should be indicators to keep them at home until they are feeling better. Student will be marked as unexcused if: --no note is received: --if the absence is for reasons other than: illness death in the family a recognized religious holiday The official policy on absences can be found on the Parent Info. page on my website.Back to Top
Will my child have make up work when they return from their absence?
Yes. We will keep a file of important assignments that were missed so your child can have adequate time to receive instruction and assistance in the areas missed. Work will only be sent home to complete when absent more than 3 days and will be sent home when the child returns. (If they are too sick to be at school, they probably won't do their best on their assignments; this is why I don't send home assignments until they are well again). Assignments will be due one week after your student returns to school after an illness.Back to Top
