everyone. If your child decides to participate, please make sure they bring in a valentine for
all students.

the signing of The Declaration of Independence, each of the classes in the fourth grade have
paired up to present various "key" concepts that lead to the birth of our nation. We will be
sending home a letter explaining the details as well as getting a head count on which students
will be able to be present (in order to make sure each student has a speaking part)for this
presentation. (All students will be taking part in making key items for display irregardless of
their being present that evening.)
~Six Flags Reading: Students are challenged to read 6 hours, or 360 minutes of reading
between now and February 20th. The same minutes recorded for the 6 Flags program, can be
recorded as total pages for the Reading Rocks Log.
~Please make sure your child is reading every night. They need to be reading 50 pages or more a
week in order to make the 450 page goal at the end of the 9 weeks. Please remember this is a 4th
grade standard. All of our children are capable of reading the required pages.
~Your child may have corrected work in his or her binder. Most of the time, students will have
a table of contents and papers/activities will be included. Please leave all work in your
child's binder. We will clean out our binders after a unit is completed.
~It is a great idea to go over the newsletter with your child and have them put the dates on a
