About The Teacher

Mrs. Faulkenberry and I are very excited about co-teaching with one another.
We would like to take this opportunity to tell you a little about ourselves
and the co-teaching model.

Hi! I am Mrs. Faulkenberry and I was born in Brunswick, Georgia. My family
moved to South Carolina when I was in high school. I attended the University
of South Carolina, got married and moved to Georgia in 1990. We have three
awesome kids-Nate, Ashley and Abby. They keep us extremely busy!!!! I love to
read, play tennis and walk. My husband and I are both South Carolina football
fans. It will be a lot of fun when South Carolina plays Florida (Mrs.
ReDavid's alma mater)!!

This is my fourth year teaching and I love it. I was a stay at home mom and
began at Vaughan when my kids returned to school. I received my special
education certification from Georgia State University. My passion is for all
students to have the opportunity to become lifelong learners. I am very
excited about this year and look forward to getting to know you and your
children.

Hi! I am Mrs. ReDavid,I grew up in south Florida, married my high school
sweetheart and moved to Georgia in 1992. We have two beautiful children,
Summer who is 9 and is in 4th grade at Vaughan and Lance who is 3. In my
spare time I love to play tennis, snow ski, and spend time with my family.
My husband and I are avid college football fans, I am a FL Gator and
unfortunately he is an alumni from FL State University. :<)

This will be my fifth year teaching at Vaughan. Teaching is my second
career. My first career was in the finance industry. The company I worked
for closed their regional offices and relocated to their headquarters in
Nashville, TN. At that time I had the option to either move to TN or take a
severance package. I feel things happen for a reason. This was the best
decision I ever made. I absolutely love teaching!

Our class is "co-taught" which simply means that there are 2 full-time
certified teachers in the classroom. This reduces the student:teacher ratio
which enables us to better meet the needs of all of our students. This is a
wonderful opportunity for us and most of all for our students.

We look forward to having your child in our classroom this year. We are a
true believer in constant communication. Please feel free to call or e-mail
us at any time with any concerns you may have. Together we will make this an
amazing year for your child.
