I was born in Great Lakes, Illinois and my family moved to Chicago shortly
after. We moved to Georgia in 1989.
I have worked in the education field since graduating high school. I
worked in After School Programs and as a substitute teacher while attending
college.
I graduated from Kennesaw State University December 1999 with a Bachelors of
Science in Elementary Education and an add-on certificate in Middle Grades
Education. This will be my tenth year teaching, all of which have been at
Vaughan. All of my years were spent in 4th grade, with this year being my
second year in 5th grade. I love teaching all subjects, but my favorite is
math. I am looking forward to my 2nd year in fifth grade, and the new Social
Studies curriculum! I am also excited about meeting all of the new faces in
our classroom this year!
I live in neighboring Paulding County. My husband, Kenny, and I
have been married for 6 1/2 years. We have two sons. Our oldest, Brennan, is
5 1/2 years old and will be in Kindergarten at Vaughan this year. Brennan
keeps us quite busy. He loves playing and watching all sports, especially
baseball. He will be playing at Oregon Park this fall. He is quite a
character! Our youngest, Bailey, is 2 1/2 years old. Bailey keeps us just
as busy. Bailey is in preschool at Primrose at Oregon Park.
When I am not at school I enjoy participating in sports activities and
scrapbooking. Just about every weekend in the fall we spend in South Georgia
at Georgia Southern football games since we are season ticket holders. When
you are in the classroom you will probably notice all of the Lions or Paws.
Those are for Penn State University...the other college football team that I
cheer for (Mr. Boone went there).
I am looking forward to the new school year!
