What is the county policy for appropriate student dress?

Go to the "CCSD Policies / Report card information" page on this web site.
You will find the exact county policy there for approved dress for students.

Should my child wear tennis shoes every day?

Yes. If we do not have P.E., we will go outside for recess when weather
permits. To stay safe, tennis shoes are recommended and flip-flops should
never be worn to school. The rotation is written in the weekly agendas.

Do you need help in the classroom? What should I do if I can help?

YES. You are welcome to come in and help any day of the week (Monday -
Thursday). Email me if you are interested and I will put you on our
volunteer calendar. You can find a copy on the "Room Mom" page.

What is for lunch and can I join my child?

Menus are posted on the Vaughan website weekly. You are welcome to join us
any day for lunch (11:56 - 12:26). We will meet you at the greeters desk
in the front hall at our lunch time. Please, do not bring fast food in the
restaurant's containers or sodas.

What if I need to change my child's transportation?

Go to the "2008-09 room mom / PTSA information" page to print a change in
transportation form and send it to school in your child's homework folder so
I can make the necessary arrangements. Also, tell your child what they will
be doing differently.

What should I do if my child must be absent from school?

If your child must be absent due to their illness, please send in a written
excuse the day your child returns. If your child has thrown up or had a fever
in the past 12-24 hours, these should be indicators to keep them at home
until they are feeling better. Student will be marked as "unexcused" if:
--no note is received:
--if the absence is for reasons other than:
        illness
        death in the family
        a recognized religious holiday

Will my child have make up work when they return from their absence?

Yes. We will keep a file of important assignments that were missed so your
child can have adequate time to receive instruction and assistance in the
areas missed. Work will only be sent home to complete when absent more
than 3 days and will be sent home when the child returns. (If they are too
sick to be at school, they probably won't do their best on their assignments;
this is why I don't send home assignments until they are well again).
Assignments will be due one week after your student returns to school after
an illness.
