If my child sees you will you tell me what was said?

Children have the right to know they can come and talk with me in private. I
inform them that I will break confidentiality if they threaten to hurt
themselves, someone else or if the security of the school is threatened. If
I feel there is a need for a conference I will contact the parents to
request one.

Do counselors teach sex education?

No we do not. We do teach children that their body is theirs and people do
not have the right ot touch their bodies if it makes them uncomfortable. We
talk about the need to inform their parents and teacher or counselor if
anyone ever touches them in a way they don't like.

Do you handle discipline at the school?

I only handle discipline as an extreme last resort. It would be very
difficult to try to be "therapeutic" with a child and discipline them at the
same time.

All parents are invited to attend any in class guidance sessions. I do ask

Because I am conducting classes everyday it is better if you make an
appointment to see me. If it is a true emergency I will make arrangements
to see you within 2 hours of that school day.

If you see my child will you call and tell me?

It depends on what I saw them for. I see kids constantly throughout the day
for a variety of reasons. Most of the time it is due to a "he said / she
said" type of thing and we resove it then. If I determine your child is in
crisis then I would contact you.

When I have a teacher conference do you sit in?

I do not attend all parent/teacher conferences considering I have 500 plus
children. If you or the teacher requests my presence, then I will attend.
