About The Counselor

Hello Wonderful Britt David Family,

My Name is Dr. Bunny Campbell and I have been at Britt David Magnet
Academy since August 2000...this is my 8th year. I have been thrilled to be
able to work with your children on a daily basis. I do classroom guidance
with all 24 classes. I am with k-3rd for 40 minutes each week and 4th-5th
for 50 minutes. Military support for kids and ADHD groups will be held on
Tuesday and Friday afternoon. I will see students individually as my
schedule allows on Thursdays.

I have been a counselor for over 20 years...but not always in the
school system. I have worked as a forensic therapist with male prisoners,
as an addiction counselor with females, as a Clinical Psychotherapist in the
state psychiatric facility, and as a private contract therapist.

I have a Master's Degree in Counseling and Human Development, an
Education Specialist Degree in School Counseling, and a Doctoral Degree in
Counseling Psychology. I also have 30 semester hours in special education.
I am an LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor), NCC (Nationally
Certified Counselor), NCSC (Nationally Certified School Counselor), and an
ACS (Approved Certified Supervisor).

I am currently the Advisor for School Counselors in the six year
program at Troy University (Phenix City)in the evening as well as an
instructor in all areas of the counseling program. My favorite course to
teach is Counseling Children, which involves psychopharmacology(medications)
and diagnosis for children and adolescents. Other experience includes a
background in Paramedic Medicine, although when I changed careers I let my
certification lapse. @:0(.

I am the state director for Bullying through Bully Police USA, Inc. and
teach workshops on bullying for the MCSD, as well as other coundelor related
workshops for both MCSD and troy University.

In addition I do volunteer work for the Red Cross and Tidwell Cancer
Center. I am currently disaster certified to further enable me to protect
our kids should the need ever arise.

I am married to Sam, a wonderful man, who is retired from the
military. He is currently a full time student, working on his degree in
elementary education. We have four adult children: Sam, Richard, Misty and
Wendy. Two are married and two are still
learning about life.

I feel privileged to be at Britt David and hope to be here for many
years to come. If I can be of assistance to your child or family please let
me know.

Britt David Magnet Academy - School Counselor Mission Statement

I believe every child has the ability to achieve and the right to a school
counseling program. I am dedicated to representing and providing support to
our students in a variety of contexts, which include: Personal/social,
academic, and career, issues. My first responsibility is counseling and
program development to serve the needs of the children. Secondly, to serve
as a general consultant to our teachers, staff, administration, and
parents. The counseling department is also designed to cover the four C's
of guidance: counseling, consulting, curriculum, and coordination. In
partnership with other educators, parents, and the community I will ensure
all students have access to, and are prepared with, the knowledge and skills
to be contributing members to society.
