Announcements and Reminders

The kids had a blast with the phases of the moon project! Ask them about it,
and see if they remember the phases of the moon song we sang! (It's to the
tune of "The Wheels on the Bus" and it is in their DOG binders.)

Christmas is right around the corner! For our Christmas party, I always like
to do craft stations. I plan to buy for three of the crafts (a gingerbread
notebook, a mug, and an ornament), but I am asking for your assistance with
the other 2. I have some in mind from a teacher website. One is a penguin
tied fleece pillow. The total cost is $64 for the class, with my discount.
The other is a fabric wreath. It is made from forming a circle with thick
jute wire and then they will tie A LOT of scrap pieces if material around it
in knots to make a really cute wreath. I'm asking for 4 packs of the jute
wire, from the floral section at any craft center, and enough scraps of
fabric (Christmas print or whatever they'll want to make a year round wreath)
to make a good thick wreath. We can make the pillows with a $3 donatioin from
each student and the wreaths with each student bringing in enough fabric to
equate to about one yard. Thank you in advance for helping with this fun
craft party!

General Reminders:

AR Requirements: This year, we will be setting personal point goals for each
student based on their own ZPD. We will be taking our first STAR test to
determine your child's ZPD in the first weeks of school. All students are
required to maintain an average of 85% regardless of their point goal.

If you would like access to your child’s AR information and the AR Quiz list
please go to the following site:
http://hosted203.renlearn.com/57945/homeconnect/login.aspx
Their login is the 10-digit number they use to login at school. It is the
school ID that will follow them throughout their school careers, so I've
asked them all to memorize them. I have sent this number home on a notecard
with each student. Their password is "INITPASS," just like at school as
well.

Enter as a parent and then click on Request Parent/Guardian Access. Fill
out the information requested. You can even get e-mail notification when your
child takes a test!
