Homework

Parents: We are informally assessing your child each day for standards
(skills) they are required to know. Britt David provides instruction at an
accelerated rate. The MSCD Report Card does not reflect what is required at
Britt David. While other Kindergarten students at other schools are required
to accomplish what is on our MCSD Report Card, we are accelerated by
extending our program into the third and fourth quarter skills. For example,
we need to know 54 sight words for the second Report card while other schools
need to know 30 words. Another example in January, our Britt David
Kindergarten students start FIRST GRADE Saxon Math where they learn on a
worksheet in class and complete the other side for Homework!

According the letter I sent about your child's placement in June, the
students on academic probation(scores in the 70's or below or retested) have
been monitored. Conferences for these students can be 8-8:30 every morning
and Friday afternoon only at 3:30-4. Please write a note or e-mail me.
Other parent requested conferences will be available in January as Report
Card come home.
