So, you want to know a little about me.....well, let me tell you...
My name is Dana Thompson. It is a joy to be teaching you this year!!! I
teach English/Language Arts, Reading, Writing, and Social Studies. I team
teach with Barbara Brown. I am also one of the math coaches for our
exceptional BDMA Matheletes!!
I am married to an awesome man...Mr. Lawrence Thompson. We are the associate
pastors and youth pastors of Christian Life Church in Phenix City. My
husband works for AFLAC in the IT department as a Senior Systems Analyst.
We have three boys, Terris (14), Jaison (11), and Khalon (4). They are a
joy to our family!! They provide so much LIFE to our everyday lives!! My
husband is originally from Savannah, Georgia and I am an "Army brat", so I
have lived in many places. Fortunately, I only had to attend 1 high
school...Spencer High School. My parents still live in Columbus and have their
own business.
I attended Georgia Southern University for several years, which is where I
met my husband. I eventually received a Bachelor of Science degree in
Early Childhood Education from Columbus State University. I also obtained
my graduate degree in Early Childhood Education from CSU in December 2007.
I am currently attending CSU (again!!:O) and will walk across that stage
December 8, 2009 to receive my Educational Specialist degree in
Leadership!! Yippee!!
My mission for the classes I teach is to provide engaging lessons and foster learning
of the whole child while teaching the students to work cooperatively in a safe
