My name is Waverley Parkerson. I am 28 years old and have been a 2nd grade
teacher at Britt David for 3 years. I am now the latest addition to
the "FABULOUS FOURTH GRADE". I have been married for 8 years to my husband
Michael. I have a daughter, Reese, who is 6 (will be in Ms. Taylor's class)
and a son, Brooks, who is 5. He will be joining the Britt David family this
year. He is in Mrs. Cheal's class. I am also the proud "Mommy" of a Yorkie
named "Sadie". I have a brother that is 10 years younger than me. He is one
of my best friends. My sister lives in LaGrange, Georgia. I love spending
time with my family. They are the ones that I thank for instilling in me the
values that I possess today. They are my heroes.
I love teaching. I love my job and I love what I do. There is no
greater gift in this world than knowing that I am molding and shaping our
leaders of tomorrow. They are all such wonderful kids and I am so thankful
that I have been given the chance to get to know each of them and their
families. It is because of each of you that I love coming to work each day.
You are all WONDERFUL! Thank you for the support and for all that you do to
help make your children's educational experience a great one!
My overall mission for this class is for each and every student to associate
success with every aspect of the curriculum. I will strive to be consistent
and to keep it creative and new. I want each child to leave this class with
confidence in themselves. My goal is for each students to truely love
knowledge and to become lifelong learners. By creating a safe, welcoming
envioronment and offering authentic and engaging lessons, students are placed
in a situation that is conducive to learning and success. We have a blast in
my classroom and I can promise that they will always leave with a smile and
come home with a story about that crazy Mrs. Parkerson. :)
