Parents,
Here I am again asking for your help. Please help your child and my student
learn his/her multiplication facts. They are timed when they are tested to
ensure they really know them well. Practice with them a lot until you know
that he/she knows them. We are going all the way to our twelve time tables.
I know that once you are involved, good things will happen. Some of my
students already know their facts. I would like to thank those parents right
now. Thank you so much for making sure your child knows what he/she needs to
know.
Please get in a hurry to ensure your child knows his/her multiplication facts
up to 12 by Dec. 14. The time is almost here. The students who know them
will be going to see a Christmas movie. The ones who do not know them
will be left behind to sit in Mrs. Mull's office. I truly would hate to
leave my students, but your child has to learn all of his/her facts. PTA
says if we can get the students to learn all of them, they will send them (my
students) to see a movie. It is getting paid for learninhg something we need
to know. The PTA is trying to make sure your child is given a good incentive
to study. I think the movie is a big one. If I were a child,I wouldn't want
to miss it. Our PTA is outstanding! They are here for our students, and I
know you are, also. Let us all put forth just a little more effort because
the movie is far from the main reason to put forth the effort. Each student
needs to know them because they will be needed for an entire life time.
Quiz your child by calling each set of facts out of order to him/her. This
is a good way to find out if he/she knows them well. Remember, we are having
timed tests two to three times each week.
I am proud to say that all of them know the operation real well. They are
multiplying with two-digit multipliers, three-digit multipliers, and dividing
with three-digit dividends. It is fun watching them learn so much in such a
short time.
Continue to do what you have been doing with AR. The class is looking real
good. Everyone in my class has an 85% average, and way above that. You are
making all the difference. I just want to thank you for being where your
child needs you to be, and that's right by his/her side, to ensure they do
well in school.
Continue having some quiet time at home just for reading and multiplication.
You two can take a walk in the park, or sit on your deck at home and talk
about what is happening in the book and give them a quick quiz on the facts.
I can not thank you enough for what you do at home. It is all for the
children (they are such a great bunch). Have a great week!
