April 22, 2008
It is hard to believe that the school year is almost over. It
is such a bittersweet time. All of the children have had such a
terrific year. They have grown so much in so many ways! I thank you
for the privilege and opportunity of working with your child. I am
certain that they will be awesome first graders.
Thank you to everyone that came out last month for Stevi B's
night. Our class won a pizza party. I so appreciate the dedication
you all have shown to this class the entire school year.
Our Millionaire Bash will be Wednesday, April 30th (11:45 ).
Please be sure to dress your child in "movie star" clothes. They
may bring a change of clothing, if you'd like.
We will be performing our folk tale plays on Friday, May 9
(9:30) in the cafeteria. The kids are doing a super job! Thanks to
Portia Walker, Kecia Cawthorne, Connie Philips, Laurie Cole and
Deanna Darrah for helping with the practice. Be sure to attend and
don't forget to invite other family members.
The children are doing a wonderful job with AR tests. They are
now able to enter the system and take the test by themselves. We
won't have AR or little books going home the last week of school.
Britt David will be open during the month of June (M-Th) for
AR testing. Times are: Monday and Tuesday 4:00-7:00 p.m. and
Wednesday and Thursday 9:30-12:30. This will be a great opportunity
for your child. Please take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
The Kindergarten celebration in song will be on Friday, May 23,
2008 at 9:30 in the gym. Please have your child wear his/her
Jellybean shirt on this day. We will then move to our classroom to
give classroom awards. After the awards (May 23) we will be going
to the park for a Burger King lunch. If you are joining us that
day, you may take your child home with you after lunch.
Important days to remember for this month:
April 30 (Wed.) Millionaire Bash (11:45)
May 9 (Fri.) Folk tale plays (9:30
May 23 (Fro.) Kdg. celebration in song followed by picnic in
park
Thank you for all that you have done for the children and me
this year. I will miss the children and you too!
Love,
Carol Jones
