I hope you and your family will have a wonderful holiday
season. The weather was chilly, but we had a great time on our field
trip last week. Thank you to the parents of the following children
for attending the trip and helping out: Carson, Conar, Carter,
Olivia, Trae and Srinithi. Now that the weather has turned colder
the students should bring a jacket everyday.
This month in math we will be working on telling time and
measurement. We will also be doing a holidays around the world
study. All of the children are doing so well with reading. Please
continue to read at home with your child. This is truly one of the
most important things you can do. At this point in time, the
children should be reading to you each night, with assistance, of
course. It is hard to believe we are almost half way finished with
the school year. As we near that point, our expectations will
increase. Beginning in January, the students will be moved to yellow
if they are not prepared for school. Please help us, by making sure
your child has his/her: homework and folder each day, little
book/bag on Fridays, and AR book/bag on Tuesdays. Thank you in
advance for your assistance with this matter.
Please be sure to check over your child's homework each night
and remember if the homework sheet has something on the back, your
child needs to do that as well. Also, don't forget to check the
website for the mystery math problem.
Many parents have asked about the ILS lab. Yes, you can bring
your child in for extra computer practice any day, except Friday,
from 3:05-3:45. I actually recommend taking your child to the lab
once every few weeks to see how they are doing.
The Santa Shop will be open this week from, Wednesday to
Friday. All items are $2. As always, if you send money for this,
please put it in an envelope with your child's name and the purpose
written on the envelope.
This will be a busy month. Important days to remember for this
month:
         Dec. 7 (Mon.)Santa pictures
         Dec. 8 (Tues.) PTA meeting
Dec. 8 (Tues.) Early release day- 1:05
         Dec. 9-11 (Wed.-Fri.) Santa Shop
Dec. 18 (Fri.) Party 1:45, beginning of break
         Jan. 5 (Tues.) School resumes

                                      Merry Christmas!
                                      Carol Jones
