Reading: log (20 min. of reading, two sentences reporting events in the part of the book you read, one sentence predicting what you think might happen OR asking a question you might have about the story),
Mathematics: book page 385 problem #1, page 386 #s 14 - 25, plus answer the following: "Can a triangle have two obtuse angles? How about a quadrilateral? Explain why or why not.
Technology night! Come find out how your child used technology in the classroom to help them learn! Next Thursday, January 14 from 6:00 to 7:00pm. Parents (not students) are invited to rotate through different classroom and grade levels to experience the use of technology at East Side Elementary.
Inclement weather? There is the possibility that snow may hit Thursday afternoon/evening. In the event that school in canceled due to weather the scheduled test for that day (vocabulary and spelling) will be administered MONDAY. Be ready. Check this page for updates or assignments in the event school is canceled.

No Homework other than studying for the usual Friday assessments (math review, vocab, spelling, and states quiz review)

Homework: Fraction review sheet, use the number 36, do columns B,C, and D. Spelling word study workbook: pg 45, all. Social Studies: finish at least two sketches with writing (2 sentences or dialogue totalling two sentences worth). Finish Grammar Workbook pgs. 7 and 8.

IOWA test scores: A one sheet summary of your child's performance on the IOWA was sent home today in the weekly folder. There is a pamphlet (that we were out of at the time these were sent home) from the county that will explain the scores and how to interpret the data on the report.
We have begun a very important, very exciting project called the Global Virtual Classroom (GVC). More info about this project will be coming home this week. Please ask your child about the project.

This website has been giving me trouble when I attempt to update it at school. Updating at home seems to work, but I try to add homework during dismissal so I don't forget. If you look here and don't see anything try the blog, there may be a daily update waiting for you there!
