News to You:
  • Happy Holidays to everyone! I hope you have a wonderful holiday and enjoy your break. You all have helped make third grade a great place for me, and I've loved watching your children learn. I'll see everyone in 2010!
  • Do you want to go to the Science Lab with our class? Here are the dates we will be going in January (the rest of 2010 will come soon). Please email me with any dates you'd like to have. January 5 and January 19
  • Don't forget our Economics Fair is Friday. The children should all bring their items and sign to school on Thursday so we can set up.
  • Our Math Facts Pizza Party will be on Friday during lunch time. We have several students who have already passed and many that are close. I'm very proud of all the kids for trying their hardest to learn their facts, so all children will be awarded with a movie!
  • If anyone happens to have some spare pennies around the house we could use them for our economics fair. Each child will have around 30 pennies to spend, and I don't have quite enough for each child. Send them in if you have them!
Last week:
  • We made and presented some FABULOUS Frederick Douglass projects. It is so neat to watch how the kids have learned from each other on these projects!
  • In groups the kids researched a habitat and found the plants and animals which belonged in their habitat. These habitat posters are on display in the hallway!
  • Finished up with Geometry!
  • Finished our reading group books and discussed our thinking!
This week:
 Reading- Reviewing our literary strategies
 Writing-  Holiday stories/assessment
 Math- Review of 9 weeks/assessment
 Grammar- Review/assessment
 Social Studies- Mountain ranges
  Science- Habitats
