Students learn advanced vocabulary each week. After 10 words have been reviewed, we have a test on the spelling, definition, and usage of the word. Students must make a score of at least an 80 prior to working on the next word list. Students are encouraged to incorporate advanced vocabulary in their writing as well as in conversation. When your child finds their vocabulary words in written text, I like for them to bring a copy of the text to display in the room.
