What are the school hours?
Students may enter the building at 7:20 a.m. and go to their
classrooms.
Students must be in class by 7:50 a.m. and dismissal begins at
2:10 p.m.
Students attending ASP are dismissed at 2:15 -- ASP ends at 6:00
p.m.
When is a student marked tardy?
Students must be in their classroom when the 7:50 bell rings or
they are marked tardy. Any student that arrives after the 7:50
a.m. bell rings is tardy, and parents are required to bring the
child to the office and sign them in. The student is given a
tardy slip to admit them to class. If a student is riding a Cobb
County School Bus and the bus arrives late the student is not
marked tardy.
How much do lunches cost?
Lunches are $2.15 for students, $3.25 for guest, $3.00 for staff. A La Cart items are $ .60
How do I pay for lunch?
You may pay by the day, month or semester. Each student has a
lunch account and deductions are made when the child purchases a
lunch. You will be notified when additional funds are needed.
You may also pay on line by going to www.mealpay.com You will be
able to put money on your child's lunch account, monitor the
account balance, etc. By using this system you
will know when your child needs money on his/her account and you
will be able to add money using your credit card/debit card.
What is the After School Program (ASP)?
The After School Program is a childcare program provided to all
students enrolled at East Side Elementary. The program operates
every day that school is in session. The program begins at
dismissal and operates until 6:00 p.m. The fee is $7.00 per
day/per child, plus a $10.00 annual registration fee for
each child. There is a $1.00 per minute late pick up fee for all
students not picked up by 6:00 p.m. Snacks are provided and
enrichment programs are offered (computer classes, chess, dance,
art, etc.).
How does my child become Mystery Student?
The names of all East Side students are placed in the Mystery
Student Jar. Names are drawn each morning and announced. If the
student called is present and was on time he/she goes to the
office to get their prize. If students are absent or tardy on
the day their name is drawn they lose their prize. By the end of
the school year, every student's name will be drawn.
What are the school colors and mascot?
East Side's school colors are yellow and royal blue. Our school
mascot is the tiger.
What is the Tiger's Cage?
The Tiger's Cage is our PTA sponsored school store. The Tiger's
Cage is open from 7:30-7:50 a.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and
Thursdays. In order to handle the large number of student
shoppers, grade levels have specific dates to shop. Tuesdays the
Tiger's Cage is open for Kindergarten and Third grade students,
Wednesdays the Tiger's Cage is open for Second and Fourth grade
students and Thursdays are for First and Fifth grade students.
