Homework packets will be coming home beginning the second week of school. Please have your child complete his/her packet and return it to school on Friday of each week. This is in addition to reading daily and practicing their addition and subtraction facts. The entire second grade team asks that you read either with, to, or listen to your child read daily for 15 to 20 minutes. The more they read the better reader your child will more likely become. Please have your child read a "just right book" of their on chosing on a daily basis. Second graders should spend no more than 15 minutes each evening on written homework. If your child is consistently spending more time than this, or if a particular assignment takes considerably longer, please let me know. If your child is tired and unable to continue, please do not force it; he/she can finish the following day. While our goal is to instill responsibility and increase attention span, we all have days when we’re not at our best!
