What Homework?!?

Assignments given are due the next day unless otherwise stated. Any
incomplete classwork becomes homework for that evening. If your child seems
to have an inordinate amount of homework, it should be a signal to you that
he/she had an off-task school day. Homework should not take more than about
one hour.

Not completing and turning in homework assignments WILL affect Honor Roll.
If a child receives an "N" in either Work/Study Habits or Behavior, he/she is
no longer eligible for the Honor Roll. Please note the criteria that will be
used.

              Missing 0 - 2 assignments = O (Outstanding)
              Missing 3 - 5 assignments = S (Satisfactory)
Missing 6 or more assignments = N (Needs Improvement)
Poor handwriting is exempt from not receiving an Honor Roll status.

All students should be reading for at least 20 minutes each night. A
reading log will be sent home shortly to document this. Fourth graders are
required to read 25 books this year (as per the county guidelines).

Almost every Monday, 3 homework packets will be sent home; Math, Reading,
and Social Studies. These packets may be done any time during the week, and
must be returned the following Monday to be checked. Additional homework may
also be sent home. Please check your child's planner each night, and/or
check my webpage for the assignments. If a child is out sick, he/she must
make up the work in order to keep up.
