Welcome to Mrs. Jacobs' Kindergarten Class web site. I am a
kindergarten teacher at Johnson Elementary School in Columbus, Georgia.
This is my 29th year teaching. I have spent 24 of those years in
kindergarten! I am fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a caring
faculty and staff. Johnson students are the best!
I graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor's Degree in
Early Childhood Education. I received a Master's Degree from
Columbus College (now Columbus State University) and a Specialist's Degree
from Troy State University. When I reflect back on all my
education, however, I must say that my most significant learning has been
received by BEING IN THE CLASSROOM every day!
I am blessed to have a hard working and caring paraprofessional named
Mrs. Wise. She is wonderful with the children. Mrs. Wise is a tremendous
asset to my kindergarten program.
I developed this web site to share my philosophy and ideas on teaching
kindergarten children as well as to give you insight into your child's
school experience while in my class. I hope you find my information useful
and informative.
I love being a teacher! I want to thank you for allowing me to teach
your child this year and for being a partner in this journey with your child.
My goal is to prepare my students for success in first grade, to boost their
knowledge and to meet each child's individual needs so that he/she
experiences success. My desire is for each child to feel a sense of
belonging and to realize his/her importance. I plan to provide a nurturing
and stimulating environment which will enable the children to open their
minds to a world of knowledge and a lifelong LOVE for learning.
