2/27: STUDENTS: Collect your Works Completed Binders and final exhibition materials from Mr. Chamizo's room on Monday. PARENTS: please ask your child to see his or her Works Completed Binder on Monday. In it will be all their graded assignments for the trimester. There is a Missing Assignments section in the binder, but this is for assignments that they needed to make up from earlier in the semester. I will include a detailed grade sheet for the entire semester in their binder and this will list any missing assignments. 2/24: The Complete Works Binder Assignment due date has been moved to 2/26, Thursday. 2/23: The Links and Homework sections have been updated with homework for today and tomorrow. 2/19: Links for the documentary on the Mongols and full text of Sun Tzu's The Art of War has been added to the Links section. 2/5: The Final Exhibition was assigned to the class by Mr. Chamizo yesterday. Copies of the handouts will be posted in the Handouts section later this week. The due date for the Final Exhibition has been posted in the Calendar section of the website. UPDATED, 2/5, 2:08, Tuesday, 2/10 is Founder's Day, there will be school, but no classes. 2/3: Parents your son or daughter were given a copy of their 2nd grade check yesterday in class. If you would like to see their current grade please ask them to see it. A copy of this grade check will also be mailed home this week. 1/29: These are your groups for the Globalization project. On Monday each of you will fill out a group contract so that each person is aware of their responsibilities for each part of the presentation and debate. You do not need to work on your presentation this weekend as we will work on it in class on Monday. UPDATED, 1/29, 2:23, Don't forget to turn in your Rainbow Bridge Worksheets also on Monday 2/2/09. 1/25: From now on new handouts are being added to the bottom of the list on the Handout page and older handouts are being removed because the website does not have enough space to host all our papers. UPDATED: Assignments for the week of 1/26-2/1 have been added to the Handouts section. 1/23: This is a reminder to all students that if you miss school for any reason: sickness, trip, suspension, etc... you are responsible for checking the website in order to stay up to date with homework and what we are doing in class. 1/22: All assignments that were due on 1/22 are now due on 1/23. 1/20: I will not be teaching class tomorrow as I will be accompanying the Juniors on their retreat. Parents your child's first progress report for this trimester was mailed home today. 1/3: The due date for the Annotated Timeline was erroneously listed as due on 1/7 in the Homework section. The actual due date is as listed on your Annotated Timeline instruction sheet, 1/12. 12/18: Parents, the first grade checks are due on December 29th and reports will be mailed out soon after. 12/16: Parents, the test on Ancient Greece has been graded and handed back to your child today in class. 12/15: The Annotated Timeline project was assigned to the class on the first day of class. This project counts for 25% of their final grade. It is due on 1/7/09. If you have not started on this project I highly suggest that you do now. The graded test on Ancient Greece will be handed back in class tomorrow. 12/11: The test on Ancient Greece will be graded and handed back on Monday, 12/15. 12/8: All students who attended mass today, the work we did in class has been posted in the Handouts section of the website. There are two assignments: Greek and Hellenistic Culture in the Modern World and Alexander the Great: Son of God. Test questions for Thursday's exam are also posted in the Handouts website. The link to the YouTube page with the entire In the Footsteps of Alexander program can be found on the worksheet titled Alexander the Great: Son of God in the Handouts section. I also put the link to the site in the Links section of our website. 12/7: Current Events#2 and the reading packet for this assignment has been posted in the Handouts section. 12/5: Links to the video on the ancient Egyptian Pharoah Hatshepsut have been added to the Links section of our website. It is in three parts and hosted on YouTube. They are near the top of the Links section. 12/5: It was nice to meet all the parents who came to parent teacher night on Tuesday. Also if you are sick and miss class you can always go on our website and download the work you missed. 11/24: I encourage all parents to attend parent teacher night on December 3. 11/19: Everyone who was not prepared for class today must have their assignments printed out and ready to turn in at the beginning of class tomorrow. 11/17: We will have our seminar on primary source documents at the beginning of class on 11/18. Don't forget your notes. Those of you who do not have your CD textbook make sure you pick it up as soon as possible.
