Second Grade "E" Club!

"E" Club stands for "Eager Exceeders", "Extra Enrichment", and "Excellence!" "E" Club assignments are optional tasks that parents may choose to work on with their A3 second graders. "E" Club work is open-ended and designed to encourage parent/child discussions. "E" Club assignments also allow parent/child teams to explore ideas and topics that are of interest and importance to the student.  The bench-marks addressed by "E" Club include LA2.1.8 "Locate information in a variety of grade-appropriate resources" as well as the following General Learner Outcomes (GLOs):
GLO 1 I am responsible for my own learning and can work independently
GLO 4 I can produce quality work.
GLO 6 I can use technology to locate information.

Over the December, 2011 intersession, second graders chose to work on the
"E" Club topic, "My Culture Is Part Of Who I Am" in place of the intersession homework packet. Second graders researched aspects of their own culture and presented their research in an interesting way. Here are some projects completed by last years second graders.
