message.  The coaches have mailboxes located at the Kauai High 
School Main Office which you are welcome to leave a message for

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT FOR PARTICIPATION IN CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
     The BOE is committed to the promotion of high academic 
achievement.  Students participating in co-curricular student 
activities must have at least an overall 2.0 GPA and be passing in 
all courses required for graduation.
PARTICIPATION GUIDELINES
1.  In the grading period preceding the activity, a student must 
have passed all required graduation courses and have at least an 
overall 2.0 GPA.
2.  The grades used to determine the GPA for eligibility to 
particiate in co-curricular student activities shall be year, 
semester, and/or quarter grades depending on their availability.
3.  The relevant GPA is computed or based on all courses in which a 
student is enrolled, not just those required for graduation.
4.  The GPA shall be computed on the grading scales as follows:
  REGULAR COURSES
  A = 4.0
  B = 3.0
  C = 2.0
  D = 1.0
  F = 0.0

  AP COURSES
  A = 5.0
  B = 4.0
  C = 3.0
  D = 2.0 
  F = 0.0
5.  All incoming 9th graders; new, out-of-state, or out-of-country 
transfer students and new transfer students from Hawai'i private 
schools are eligible to participate during the first quarter if all 
transcripts are in and GPA is sufficient (2.0 or higher).
