What if my child will be absent from school or will be tardy?
If your child will be absent, you must call the Attendance Coordinator, Ms.
Lydia Chong at 274-3173 extension 115 to report your child's absence or
tardy.

How does my child get a locker?
This is done at the beginning of the school year only. Your child must
complete a Locker Use Guideline agreement which can be obtained from the
Student Activities Coordinator, Mrs. Hoe at D-21 and sign up for one with
her. Student
must provide their own locks. There is a limited number of lockers so it is
being done on a lottery process. If you have any further questions, please
call the Student Activities Coordinator in charge of lockers, Ms. Yamagata
at 274-3173 ext. #225.

How does my child deposit money into his/her lunch account?
You can give cash or your check made payable to Kauai High School to your
child to deposit into their lunch account at Main Office either before
school or during morning recess. There is a Lunch Payment Drop Box on the
front counter of the main office with envelopes supplied for students to
write their name and amount of deposit onto the envelope. Once
completed, student is to drop envelope into locked box on the counter.

How does my child get a bus pass?
Your child can pick up a Bus Pass Application at the Kauai High School Main
Office. The application will be sent to the DOE Student Transportation on
Kauai. The student will be issued a bus pass after the 10 day processing
period as the Bus Passes are made at the Kauai District Office. If you
child loses their bus pass, they will need to pay $5 and turn in a request
for a Duplicate Pass signed by their parent.

How does my child get a parking permit?
Your child can go to the main office, pick up a parking permit application
and have you complete it. Once completed, he/she must bring the application
to the Account Clerk along with $5.00 and the Account Clerk will give your
child a parking permit.

How does my child clear his/her obligations?
If your child has an obligation for any library material, he/she must see
the Librarian. All other obligations, such as athletics, school books,
etc., he/she must see the Account Clerk at the main office.

How can I get homework or set up a conference with teachers for my child?
You can call the counselor's office to request homework if your child is
absent from school for three or more days or to set up a conference with
teachers. The Counselors are listed by Grade level and their phone numbers:

What if my child loses his/her Student ID?
A replacement ID card may be obtained by going to D-21. Lost, stolen or
defaced ID cards must be repleced at the student's expense of $5.

How do I get a student pass for my child for an appointment/personal business?
Your child must present a written parental request to the Main Office
before school or during morning recess. Requests must be signed by the
parent/guardian and must include your child's name, telephone contact for
parent, reason for off-campus pass and time that the student must be
dismissed from school and/or returned to school.

How can my child apply for free or reduced lunch?
Free and reduced lunch applications can be picked up from the main office.
Once completed your child must turn it in to the main office for processing.
