Students:  Have you outgrown Twilight?  Are you over Hunger Games?  Mr. 
Pontious is having a book drive for his classroom library.  Please drop any 
and all donated books in the cardboard box outside of I-35.  No kindles

ANNOUNCEMENTS TO STUDENTS
***Juniors entering Grade 12:  During the summer vacation, please have your 
senior picture taken.  September 13th is the deadline to submit your senior 
portrait to Mr. Low.  Several professional photographers on Kauai specialize 
in portrait photography for school students:  Aloha Kauai Foto 1 Portraits, 
Dianne Reynolds Photography, Herbie's Photography, Photo Spectrum, Pono 
Studio, Portraits of Hawaii, and Rainbow Photography.  You may have a family 
member or friend take a picture of you following these simple guidelines:  
Photo of you only (taken from head to shoulder), at least wallet size, 
picture in good quality (color/clarity), no inappropriate clothing or 
gestures, must be 280-300 and ppi.   If you have any questions, call 
Yearbook Advisor Mr. Terry Low at 274-3173 extension 134.

***Students Taking Calculus Next Year:  Please see Mr. Odoya in K-10 for 
your summer homework assignment.  (Mr. Odoya)

***Grades 9th-11th Girls interested in playing High School Volleyball:  Sign 
ups will be at the gym this week.  (Coach Carvalho)

***Class of 2014:  For more information about Senior Project, please visit 
our school website at kauaihigh.org.  Click on Classes/Homework, then click 
on Senior Project.  If you are interested in completing Senior Project hours 
over the summer, please complete the required forms by the end of this 
month.  (Mrs. Plowman)

Class of 2014:  Because the payment date for our class spirit shirts was 
pushed back, shirts will be distributed on fee payment day, July 25th, 2013 
during this summer.  (Mrs. Aiwohi)

Students who signed up for AP English next year:  Please do not forget to 
pick up your summer reading materials from the Library.  Contact Mr.

Students are asked to bring in a pen, a tablet or binder with folder paper.

OFF CAMPUS PASSES:  Students needing an off campus pass MUST present a 
WRITTEN PARENTAL REQUEST to personnel in the Main Office between the hours

include the student's name, home telephone number, reason the pass is needed 
and the time the student is to be dismissed from and/or returned to school.

turning them into the Account Clerk's office. Cost for the permit is $5.00.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES, Kauai High School does not have a school supplies list,
students are asked to bring a notebook and a pen on the first day of school
as teachers will inform students as to what supplies they will need for that
class.

VISITORS ON CAMPUS
All visitors are to report directly to the main office. All visitors,
including guest speakers MUST obtain permission from the school's
Administration prior to their visit. No relatives or friends of students
are to visit during school hours. The visitor's parking area is located in
front of "U" Building or at the 1 hour parking along Lala Road.

NOTE REGARDING ITEMS TO BE DELIVERED TO YOUR CHILD - Attention Parents:
Just a reminder, if you need to drop off something for your child and school
has started, please come to the office and we will be sure to have your
child pick up the item. All visitors to the campus must check in at the
front office first. Please do not go to the classroom during
instructional time. Please make after school arrangements in the morning,
if there is an emergency or late change in plans, we will get a message to
your child. There may be times when the class is not in their room and the
message cannot be relayed.

NOTE REGARDING PICKING UP YOUR CHILD EARLY FROM SCHOOL - Attention Parents:
Please coordinate after school transportation with your child before your
child goes to school. This will alleviate disruptions during important
class time. If you have an emergency during school hours and you need to
contact your child, please call the main office and they will immediately
get a message to your child. If you need to pick up your child for a doctors
appointment or other personal business, please send your child to the office
with a written note stating what time your child needs to leave school so we
can issue a Student Off Campus Pass.
