KAUAI HIGH SCHOOL CHORUS CONCERTS
The Kauai High School Chorus concerts are Tuesday and Wednesday, May 20 and
21, 2008 at 7:00 PM each evening.
Our theme is: "The Family of the Opera" featuring music from: Carmen,
Dreamgirls, La Traviata, Curtains, Madama Butterfly and The Lion King.
Advance tickets are available from Chorus Students and will be available at
Kmart starting May 6, 2008. Advance tickets are $5.00 for students and
senior citizen and $6.00 for adults. Tickets at the door are $7.00 for
students and senior citizens and $8.00 for adults.
The Ruth Luka Goo Memorial Chorus Scholarship recipients will be announced
on Tuesday night May 20, 2008.
Graduating 2008 seniors will be honored on Wednesday evening May 21, 2008.
Two dollars from each ticket sold goes directly to support the Ruth Luka Goo
Memorial Chorus Scholarship. All other proceeds support Chorus student
travel for All-State Honor Choir and Hawaii Opera Theatre's Opera For
Everyone performances.
"The Family of the Opera" is at the Kauai War Memorial Convention Hall in
Lihue. David Conrad is the director with choreography by Stacie Cantu.

reminder that the Hawaii Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund (EUTF)
Open Enrollment deadline is Wednesday, May 14, 2008. All forms need to be
received in Oahu by the 14th - They will not accept any faxed forms. Any

by the Hawaii Teacher Standards Board will be held on Monday, May 19, from

interested in pursuing National Board Certification, some the questions that
will be addressed are: What are the NBPTS Standards? Who is eligible? How
can your become a candidate for National Board Certification? What financial

ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS - Summer School Applications are available in the
Main Office. This summer we are offering a non-credit Math enrichment
class. If you are interested, please list it on your application. The cost
for a semester class is $80; year class is $160. Summer classes are on a

VISITORS ON CAMPUS
All visitors are to report directly to the main office. All visitors,
including guest speakers MUST obtain permission from the school's
Administration prior to their visit. No relatives or friends of students
are to visit during school hours. The visitor's parking area is located in
front of "U" Building or at the 1 hour parking along Lala Road.
NOTE REGARDING ITEMS TO BE DELIVERED TO YOUR CHILD - Attention Parents:
Just a reminder, if you need to drop off something for your child and school
has started, please come to the office and we will be sure to have your
child pick up the item. All visitors to the campus must check in at the
front office first. Please do not go to the classroom during
instructional time. Please make after school arrangements in the morning,
if there is an emergency or late change in plans, we will get a message to
your child. There may be times when the class is not in their room and the
message cannot be relayed.
NOTE REGARDING PICKING UP YOUR CHILD EARLY FROM SCHOOL - Attention Parents:
Please coordinate after school transportation with your child before your
child goes to school. This will alleviate disruptions during important
class time. If you have an emergency during school hours and you need to
contact your child, please call the main office and they will immediately
get a message to your child. If you need to pick up your child for a doctors
appointment or other personal business, please send your child to the office
with a written note stating what time your child needs to leave school so we
can issue a Student Off Campus Pass.
