This is my tenth year as a teacher. I spent my first two years of teaching
in Hiroshima, Japan. My next six years were at Clover Park High School in
Lakewood,
WA. This is my second year teaching at Maryknoll. In addition to teaching,
I have also worked for the United Nations in
New Delhi, India and provided humanitarian aid in Vietnam.
Prior to teaching I received my Masters degree from the University of Puget
Sound and a Bachelor of Arts from Western Washington University.
I moved to Hawaii in July 2006 and I am really enjoying living on Oahu.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy reading, having dinner with friends, and I
love spending time on the south shore riding my longboard.
My mission for this class is a simplistic concept, but more complex in
implementation. I hope that instead of teaching my students "what to think"
that I can challenge them to learn "how to think".
