How do I get in touch with you?

You can send me an e-mail or call my cell phone (348-1468). If you need to
speak to me, I arrive at school about 6:30 a.m. and can be found in room
209. In addition, I am always happy to meet with you during lunch or after
school.

What if I miss an assignment?

One of the most important skills you will need in college is timeliness.
Work should be turned in on time unless you are absent. If you have special
concerns, please talk to me so we can make arrangements to catch up.

What if my homework isn't turned in on time?

One of the most important skills you will need in college is timeliness.
Late work is worth 50% of the possible grade. "Late" is defined as not being
turned in during class time. Major assignments (essays, portfolios, research
papers) lose one grade per day late - this includes weekends, since you can
always e-mail it to me!

What about extra credit?

The interesting thing about extra credit is that the people who don't need
it are the ones who want to do it! If you would like to do some extra
credit, talk to me.

Why are you so tough on plagiarism?

Plagiarism is stealing, and it's illegal. If you take information from a
source, you owe it to them to cite your sources. If you deliberately try to
pass the work off as your own, you will receive an "F" for the assignment -
and a visit to the Dean's Office.

What if I have a computer meltdown?

If your computer decides to take an unscheduled vacation, make sure that you
have a backup copy. You cannot simply say, "I sent it by e-mail and I can't
pull it off the net." You need to have it on a disk or flash drive. That's
called being responsible.

Why can't I use a cell phone or I-Pod in class?

You will be so involved in discussion and activities that you won't have
time for phones or mp3. You don't need to be distracted by other things.
Besides, it's rude.
