CLASS ASSIGNMENT FOR MARCH 5, 2009 (THURSDAY)

Using the internet, find information about Sir Isaac Newton, Galileo
Galilei, Albert Einstein, Enrico Fermi, Richard Feynman, Werner Heisenberg,
Stephen Hawking, James Watt, Robert Oppenheimer, Wolfgang Pauli, Max Planck,
Alfred Nobel, Stephen Hawking, Freeman Dyson, Hideki Yukawa, Henrietta
Leavitt, Neils Bohr, Lise Meitner, Daniel Bernoulli or Annie Jump Cannon.
These are people who have made a great contribution to science.

BE SURE TO CITE YOUR SOURCES!
This means put the URL of the site and the title of the article
you used! Paraphrase (put in your own words) what the information is about.
You may cut and paste a few pictures if it is allowed by the site and you
cite the source by putting the URL under the picture like we do for lab
reports.

Make a tri-fold pamphlet using either MS Word, MS Publisher or another
publishing software you know. Making a pamphlet on Publisher is easier than
in Word. For the link to instructions on how to do it in Word see my links
page "How to make a pamphlet in MS Word". You can also do your own search on
the internet for additional instructions or the "Help" section of Word.

Have one section of the pamphlet for the scientist's life, another for his
works accomplished.
Try to explain these briefly in your own words. Make it fun and
interesting!
You have all period to accomplish this. If you print to the class your
pamphlet will be in color and look nicer than in black and white.
THE PAMPHLET FOR THIS ASSIGNMENT MUST BE TURNED IN NO LATER THAN FRIDAY AT
THE BEGINNING OF THE PERIOD! YOU WILL GET EXTRA CREDIT IF IT IS NICE AND
TURNED IN AT THE END OF THE PERIOD ON THURSDAY!! Have fun learning!
