Welcome to Ms. Grace's Class Webpage!

Note:  ALL students must get at least an 80% on the Arithmetic Test to go to 8th Grade (Pre-Algebra students need 90% to go to Algebra!).  Congrats to all who have been staying after school M,T and Th to study and retake the test!  Your hard work is paying off.

Quarter 4:  
Week 7:   Failure Notices for the Year Go Home.  (Includes anyone who has not passed the Arithmetic Test).    Pre-Algebra works on ch. 10 and takes quiz on Friday for sections 1-3.  Regular Math Classes are taking and correcting their ARithmetic Tests in order to pass for the year!  Good Luck to all!

Week 2:  Continue to work on Probability- simple, compound. Take March Benchmark (goes into gradesheet).  Monday is holiday.
Week 3:  Continue Probability Projects.  All questions due and will count as project questions (test grade).  Friday is holiday. 
Week 4:  Take Feb. Benchmark (counts as grade).  Prepare for HSA by reviewing all benchmarks and continue the probability projects.  Test questions, game board and powerpoint due next Monday!

Week 5:  Projects Due!  All test questions (papers) should be turned in with the sample space.  Progress Reports Come out this week.  HSA Final this week.  Finish up all probability projects.  :)
   :Pre-Algebra Projects Will be gradedthis weekend. Regular Math Classes can turn in final project by Monday, April 23.  I will be in class on Saturday from noon - 5pm if you need help.  Then it's off to our Star Party Field Trip!!!   The projects look GREAT this year!  Nice Job, Students!

Week 6:  April 23-27
All Projects Due!  Field Trip to Pearl Harbor on Friday...bring your money and signed field trip form to your homeroom teacher.  (Those who have not finished project can stay back and finish with me).  
Pre-Algebra takes Ch. 9 test, Regular Math Classes will begin Arith. Test (need 80% to go to 8th grade).  Happy Learning!

Quarter 2 - last week of the quarter!  :)
Extra Credit Projects...come in during lunch and recess to create ornaments for our polygon and circle tree!  Or create a blow-up cartoon. Go to www.themathlab.com and scroll to the bottom.  Finish the project for a quiz grade, and all the questions with the project for a test grade.  Turn it in the first day back.  Good luck!

Week 1:  All classes take Arithmetic Test and must correct missed problems.  Pre-Algebra starts Chapter 4.  Regular math will work on adding and subtracting fractions.

Week 2:  All classes will take the October benchmark test.
Regular math classes work on adding and subtracting mixed numbers.  Quiz on Day 4!  Pre-Algebra works on chapter 4(Powers and Exponents, Prime Factorization, GCF).  

Week 3:  Mid Chapter Quiz for Pre-algebra, and simplifying fractions, multiplying and dividing monomials, and working with negative exponents.  Regular math classes will multiply and divide mixed numbers, then take a practice test.  BIG TEST on FRACTIONS DAY 1 WEEK 4!!

Week 7:   Math classes take their test on scientific notation and changing dimensions.  Pre-Algebra continues on chapter 5...fractions with
integer rules.
 

Week 8:  HSA testing, so double periods.  Pre-Algebra takes their ch. 5 test, and takes the HSA next Monday.  Math classes start using proportions to solve scale problems (maps and models), and take the HSA on Friday.

  
Week 9:  HSA TESTING, so double periods tthrough Friday.  Pre-Algebra works on chapter 6, ratios and proportions.  Math Classes also work on proportions and begin similar figures. Test this week for periods 1 and 2, and next week for period 6.  All classes take final next week!  All test retakes (ch. 5 Pre-Alg and Chaning Dimensions Test other classes) are Friday lunch and afterschool.  Good luck!

Week 10:  All classes take semester finals!  Period 6 also takes ratios, proportions and similar figures test.  All students can continue to work on extra credit projects during recess, lunch and after school.

Week 1:  Pre-Tests, Rules and Procedures, Mult. Quiz, Set up Interactive
                 Notebook (get a 5-subject notebook for math).

Week 2:  Compare integers on a number line, find (and define) absolute value, and 
               add integers!

Week 3:  Open House this week on Wednesday, Aug. 19!!! 
              In class we'll subtract, multiply and divide integers.  TEst next week!

Week 4:  Practice Test, Correct Mistakes, and Test again in our regular math classes.  Pre-Algebra will finish the chapter review and study guide, and take a practice test on Friday. 

Week 5:  Math Classes will learn about box and whisker graphs, practice the order of operations with integers, and take the September benchmark test.    Pre-Algebra will take the ch. 2 test, and review some sections from ch.1.
           **PROGRESS REPORTS GO HOME THIS WEEK***

Week 6: Math classes learn about different ways of finding the GCF and LCM and take a quiz on last day of this week on box and whisker, order of operations, prime factorization, gcf and lcm. 

Week 7:  Math Classes will develop their own "Divisibility Raps", and explore word problems that use GCF and LCM.  Pre-Algebra begins Chapter 3 on Number Theory. 

Week 8:  Math Night on Tuesday!!!  6-7:30pm in the cafeteria!  Come play games and have fun learning about fractions.  Students in Math take their Quiz on Day 2 (we've been practicing about LCM/GCF word problems and how to use prime factors and GCF to find reduced fractions.  Pre-Algebra takes mid chapter quiz and big chapter 3 test next monday.  Field trip this week!!!!! 

Week 9:  Last Week of Quarter.  Math Classes take final, and can retake the quizzes and tests during class day 4, and after school Thursday till 4pm.  Pre-Algebra takes ch. 3 test and the final on chapters 1-3. 

Week 10:  Fall  Break!  See you next quarter!
